On 18 September, it was reported that privacy and security issues in Web 3.0 had been published by privacy browser security researchers Philippe Winter, Anna Harbluk Lori, Peter Snyder, and Benjamin Livshits. The study indicated that, while it was widely accepted in the encrypted world that DeFi could be a safe, private, decentralised solution to the traditional financial system, the study measured the privacy and safety attributes of the DeFi application and found that DeFi remained a privacy and security risk, that a common tracker could record a Tai Pa address on more than 56 per cent of the analytical website, and that many of the trackers on the DeFi site could link the user's e-Team address to PII (e.g., name or demographic information) or web fishing users.

On September 17, NFT game developer Animoca Brands announced a massive investment in NFT platform Bondly. Animoca will have most of Bondly’s equity after investing. Bondly’s NFT technology, including launch pads and cross-linkage bridges, will be included in Animoca’s game product. According to the announcement, Animoca is seeking to use Bondly’s NFT technological solutions package to enable game players to move an irreplaceable intergenerational asset, Animoca, between the network of blocks, and the co-founder, Yat Siu, in assessing the reasons behind Bondly’s investment, “we have acquired most of Bondly’s shares, as it will greatly help us to promote real digital ownership through NFT, which we believe is essential to the future of the game and the emergence of open metaspace.”
