The Mt. Gox website of the Bitcoin Exchange, located in Tokyo, Japan, remained in operation on 26 days, causing panic among foreign and domestic Bitcoin traders.
Mt.Gox是世界上最大规模的比特币交易所之一。日本当地时间25日午间起，Mt.Gox网站便无法登录。25日深夜至26日，Mt.Gox在网站首页贴出“告顾客书”，称鉴于近期一些新闻报道影响Mt.Gox网站运营和比特币市场，为保护用户，网站将暂停所有交易。
Mt.Gox is one of the largest Bitcoin exchanges in the world. From noon 25 Japanese local time, Mt.Gox’s website is inaccessible. From late 25 to late 26 nights, Mt.Gox postes a “customs to customers” on the front page of the site, stating that in view of recent news reports affecting Mt.Gox’s operations and the Bitcoin market, the site will suspend all transactions to protect users.
但美国有媒体透露说，Mt.Gox是受到黑客攻击并导致大量比特币失窃，而该平台因资不抵债，随时有破产的风险。日本内阁官房长官菅义伟当天表示，日本金融厅和警察厅等部门已经介入调查，正在收集相关信息。
However, media sources in the United States have revealed that Mt. Gox was hacked and resulted in a large amount of bitcoin being stolen, and that the platform was at risk of bankruptcy because of its indemnity. Japan’s Cabinet Secretary General Yu Yi Wai said on the same day that Japan’s financial and police offices, among others, were already involved in the investigation and were collecting relevant information.
据日本媒体报道，Mt.Gox在全球的用户约100万，以海外用户为主，包括不少1万美元以上数量级交易的用户。目前，有用户开始担心无法提取现金或比特币。
According to Japanese media reports, Mt.Gox has about 1 million users worldwide, mostly overseas, including a number of more than $10,000 in volume-level transactions. Currently, some users are worried that they will not be able to draw cash or bitcoin.
今年2月7日，Mt.Gox曾临时停止比特币提取业务，引发交易混乱和用户不满。据报道，全球六家比特币交易所发表联合声明，指责Mt.Gox辜负了用户信任，但强调这是Mt.Gox一家交易所的问题，不能反映比特币的弹性和价值。
On 7 February of this year, Mt. Gox temporarily suspended bitcoin extraction operations, causing confusion and user dissatisfaction. Six Bitcoin exchanges around the world reportedly issued a joint statement accusing Mt. Gox of compromising user trust, but emphasizing that it was a problem for the Mt. Gox exchange and did not reflect Bitco’s elasticity and value.
