随着身价的大涨，原来的区块设定会造成又慢又堵的局面，比特币之所以会出现分叉，是因为比特币社区对 “比特币扩容” 的主张不一致。 有人就提出将这个字段的最大值调高，比如 BitcoinClassic 这个软件就将这个字段的最大值调到2M，并且以后有计划取前2016个区块大小的中位数在乘一个约定好的倍数来决定下一批区块的大小上限。 因为不同的理念催生出了N种扩容方案，各个方案间无法统一，就会导致分叉。 分叉还分为硬分叉和软分叉两种。 硬分叉是指协议规则放宽。这样新规则部署后，如果有节点没有升级，针对新的规则的区块未升级的节点会认定其为非法。这个时候，旧节点就会放弃追随这条包含非法规则的链，哪怕它是最长链也一样会放弃。这种情况下，未升级的节点就会主动分裂出去。然后大家各自延续自己认为正确的链，所以分成两条链。 软分叉是指协议规则收紧。这样新规则部署后，新规则是旧规则的一个子集，未升级的节点并不会认为新规则的区块是非法的。所以简单想，软分叉不升级的节点并不会主动分裂出去，并且依然追随最长链规则。
