ETHW is a fork in token, and ETHPoW has issued an open letter to Ether Classic Development Team ETC Cooperative. This is in response to a previous letter from ETC Cooperative to Chandler Guo, which discusses why the ETHPoW split failed and why miners should turn to the Ether Classic.

The ETHPOW is the intended break-off for the Tai family. It is led by the miner Chandler Guo, and is designed to divide from the Ether family network. Guo asserts that the break-off will allow miners to continue mining operations after the shift to evidence-of-interest consensus (also known as consolidation). This, however, will lead to the creation of two block chains, each of which has its own version of the protocol and a token running on the chain.
