虚拟币挖矿的机制最初源于比特币（Bitcoin）这一最早的加密货币。比特币的创始人中本聪（Satoshi Nakamoto）设计了一种去中心化的货币系统，通过工作量证明（Proof of Work，PoW）机制来确保网络的安全。PoW要求参与者（矿工）解决一个数学难题，这个难题的解决方案称为“哈希”。第一个找到哈希的矿工将获得比特币作为奖励，并有权将新的交易记录添加到区块链上。
The virtual currency mining mechanism originated initially in Bitcoin, the first encrypted currency. Satoshi Nakamoto, the founder of Bitcoin, designed a decentralised monetary system to secure the network by means of the Proof of Work, PoW. PoW asked participants (miners) to solve a mathematical problem, the solution of which was called “Hash”. The first miner to find Hashi would be rewarded with bitcoin and had the right to add new trading records to the chain.
