Ethereum Classic於2016年7月從以太坊 (ETH) 拆分出來，不過仍保存了原始區塊鏈。
在分拆後繼續保留採礦和交易。
Poloniex將ETC上市，當時價格更達到了ETH的三分之一。
被各種Ethereum襲擊後，ETC發出「獨立宣言」，聲明「我們相信分散的、無審查，無權限的區塊鏈」，並不再與以太坊基金會合作。
在DAO攻擊中被盜的ETC被傾倒入市場，但是ETC價格仍相當穩定。
ETC最於組建一支開發團隊。

Geth

Geth 使用Go編程語言提供了一個可以運行完整的ETC節點的「多用途命令工具」。自從Ethereum （以太幣）分拆以來，Geth包含了超過40％的新代碼。該系統允許用家挖掘ETC、轉賬、創建智能合約和管理賬戶。

Geth provides a "multi-purpose command tool" that can run a complete ETC node using the Go programming language. Since it was separated from Etheeum, Geth contains more than 40% of the new code. The system allows home-based excavation of ETC, transfer, creation of smart contracts and management of accounts.

可以在哪裡買到？
可以在Bittrex或Poloniex上使用BTC和ETH進行ETC交易；也可以在Bitfinex上以美元直接購買ETC。

雖然Emerald Wallet仍在開發階段，但用家仍可以在此下載最新版本的Emerald Wallet。至於手機錢包，現時支援ETC的只有Jaxx。如果希望提高安全性，可以使用Ledger Nano S硬件錢包。

Although Emerald Wallet is still in the development phase, the user can still download the latest version of Emerald Wallet. As for mobile wallets, only Jaxx currently supports the ETC. If you want to increase security, you can use the Ledger Nano S hardware wallet.
